Air cavalry, airmobile helicopter formations widely used by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War (1954–75) to locate and assault enemy ground forces and transport U.S. troops into battle. The Vietnam War saw the first large-scale use of helicopters in a combat role.

Wow. I flew with the Air Cavalry in Vietnam, and I never saw any optics like this on a Huey. Must be a B Model. I was with C/7/17 and H/10, both at the end of the war. We had mostly H Models then. Nice to see this piece in the contest. I have a photo called "Morning Ride" in this contest with a formation of ten of them, taken from the last one.
